GAAYAM-2 (STARRING JAGAPATHI BABU,VIMALA RAMAN..............)

Even after 17 years of its release, the Telugu filmGaayam is remembered by many.
Directed by Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) with a screenplay by Mani Ratnam, Gaayam made a star out the film's hero, Jagapathi Babu. The film also starred Revathy, Urmila Matondkar, Gummadi, Tanikella Bharani, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Uttej.
Now after more than a decade and a half, it's sequel, Gaayam 2 is being made. This time however, Ram Gopal Varma is not helming it -- he is presenting the movie, though. Rather it is his protege, Praveen Sri, who is directing the sequel. RGV
Jagapathi Babu reprises his role with Vimala Raman (of Evaraina Epudaina fame) in tow.
The sequel is produced by Dharmakartha C and music is by maestro Ilaiyaraja. Anil Bhandari handles the camera and Praveen Reddy is the editor of Gaayam 2. The film is scheduled to release in September.
Initially, Ram Gopal Varma was hesitant about a sequel as many years has passed since the first movie was released. He was also not very sure of debutant Praveen Sri's directing abilities. But when Praveen Sri narrated a few crucial sequences, he realised that his protege was ready to direct a film.
Jagapathi Babu, who experienced a good turnaround in his career with Gaayam, counts the film to be one of his best movies. "As an actor, I didn't act well but I must give credit to RGV as a director. He takes anybody and makes him a star. Ramu made me dub my voice for the film and the voice became famous."
Jagapathi Babu continues, "the director has connected the film well. The issues are the same and there is a proper continuation. The script of the sequel was convincing. I wouldn't want to spoilGaayam and wouldn't have agreed to a sequel if I didn't have confidence in it.
Like Jagapathi Babu, the sequel sees the return of Tanikella Bharani and Kota Srinivasa Rao. Unfortunately, Kota Prasad, son of Kota Srinivasa Rao, who essayed the role of villain in Gaayam 2, passed away in a road accident recently........................

Review:
My View :i have seen this movie in pune Esqauare on 09/04/2010.
by paying Rs.120. what i thik is is wasted the money on that movie.

Other than Kotha srinivas rao action there is nothing to watch in the movie.Half of the Theatre is emptied at break. The main prblem is director who confuced himself and confuced others also.So we can give 1/5 rating for this movie.
Story:
Ram (Jagapathi Babu) is a restaurant owner in Bangkok. Ram leads his life happily with his wife Vidya (Vimala Raman) and adopted son Chaitanya. One day, psycho killers attempt to molest a female worker at Ram’s restaurant. To protect her, Ram shoots them. This rescue turns Ram a hero before the media.upto ram acton it is very good but very dull drirection make this part also sucks.

Gurunarayana (Kota Srinivasa Rao) shocks to see Ram who is quite similar to Durga (Jagapathi Babu), an arch-rival, who was declared dead long ago. Gurunarayana’s son Shankar Narayana (Kota Prasad) leaves for Bangkok along with their lawyer saab (Tanikella Bharani) to find out whether he is Ram or Durga. Shankar Narayana kidnaps Chaitanya. This irks Ram and opens up his identity by injuring Shankar Narayana and killing a person just in front of Vidya.in this part there is no clue of good seen tha we can remember as there is no much impact on us.
Lawyer Saab takes away Shankar Narayana back to India. Vidya deserts Ram as he concealed his identity that he was once a killer and goon. But the Bangkok police officer of Indian origin (Jeeva) convinces her that Durga turned Ram and leading a normal and peaceful life only to keep himself off from bloodshed. Then Ram reveals his flashback to Vidya. At a time when it is going to be a happy reunion, again Gurunarayana’s men attack Ram and his family and Chaitanya gets badly injured.
In order to put a fullstop to the bloodshed, Ram decides to go to India as Durga and clear off the rivalry with Guru Narayana. He sends Vidya and Chaitu to the police officer’s house and returns to India. What happens next should be seen on-screen.This is the movie that we can expect every seen before and waste of your time and money.
